This is Emily’s last post for us on the Gazette! Thanks so much for sharing with us, it’s been a pleasure to read about your culinary habits and thoughts this week, and to follow your search to drink the colour Green!
Thank you,

Had a last minute meet up with uni mates in London. I went round to Rohan’s flat in Bermondsey to find shakshuka, tomato salad, and a white bean salad waiting for me. If any single ladies in the Bermondsey area are interested, Rohan is a lovely lad who can cook very well. He managed to get the eggs just right, not too runny, not too cooked. His white bean salad was also really tasty, I think the lemon and garlic dressing really made it zing.
After lunch, we ended up going from pub to pub in Bermondsey high street, where we had a much needed catch up over some staggeringly priced pints. Alas, I am not willing to settle for the slightly cheaper Camden Hells, as I love my £6.80 Neck Oil too much. Maybe I should just go for wine to save myself money.
8:40pm
I’m on the slow train ride home after scoffing a McDonald’s on the platform. The chips were some of the best I’ve had from there, but the saltiness and the lack of ketchup has left me thirsty as we chug along through the night. The nuggets, however, were dryer and not as crispy as they usually are.
Eating McDonalds always reminds me of the Supersize Me documentary that we got shown in Year 9 Biology, and makes me feel ashamed that watching that disgusting documentary has done nothing to stop me wolfing down a Maccies whenever my heart desires.
There is something about eating fast food late at night that feels very comforting and safe. No matter how drunk you may be, how far on the train you have to travel, having a bag of chips in your hands always makes things seem slightly more manageable.
