Good Morning.
This week we have Emilie Pichot sharing with us on the Gazette!
[Note: we’ve got a few reschedules coming up, but soon we’ll be back to our regular fortnightly programming on here.]
A little about Emilie:
Emilie Pichot (she, her/ they, them)
I work in libraries but try to fit regular baking of bread loaves,
community organizing, foraging, and messy drawings into the gaps.
This week I will be documenting what I am eating and cooking everyday
and will try to include some fun research about the food in there.

monday sept 26: garlic pres
Monday September 26th
leek from Shawlands arcade market
parmesan from Tesco
rainbow chard from Locavore
spaghetti, from lidl
cherry tomatoes from Shawlands arcade market
lemon from Tesco
Salt from Shawlands Continental
garlic from Locavore
oregano from spice collection (unknown origins)
black olive tapenade from Lidl
Cannamela Peperoncino Mocinato Extrapiccante (gift) (thanks Brigitte)
Tools: garlic press* from a vide-grenier in the Dordogne
cutting board, knife etc.
*apparently designed by Swiss utensil company Zyliss (Wikipedia)
Tastes: bitter, salty, sweet, cheesy
are you like the garlic press or the knife?
remember to lick the plate and clean your fingers,
otherwise your contact lenses will sting
do you cry when you cut an onion? Or do your contact lenses
act as a barrier?
does the garlic press really help you cook with garlic, does the
ritual of cleaning out every bit of crushed garlic out
satisfy an obsessive need to scratch, grate, pick
the garlic press holes like you *pop* a pimple,
or never throw anything
ever away
everything has a use OR, you are neurotic
And, the garlic press reminds you of Maman
and how her fingers always smelled of garlic
End: prunes, dark chocolate and a french biscuit
