my heart as a fig
rich and almost too nutty
split down the middle

8:30 am: After grabbing our first Starbucks of the day, we went into town because Mum needed to go to the bank. I ventured over to Costa for some jam on toast. I bought a physical copy of American Psycho from the bookshop.
12:00 pm: We went over to the supermarket for what we needed. I picked up the ingredients for Maltese pasta tomorrow. I’m a dab hand at making it now. I also bought some omelette ingredients.
13:00 pm: I began frying onions, mushrooms, red peppers, and spinach in mixed herbs and spices. Once rendered down, I added some Singapore noodles. Once a minute had passed, I cracked four eggs into a bowl and whisked them up. Pouring the eggs in, I evened it out. It turned out more of a smashed omelette as I had misjudged the amount of ingredients I included.
15:00 pm: I’ve started listening to Dale Carnegie’s How to Win Friends and Influence People. I aim to attain power I have never had, and not in a sinister way, more of an influential way. We have to sustain a sense of purpose to survive, and sometimes, that takes many forms. With my last Starbucks of the day, I curled up on the couch and wrote a bit for my Substack.
